Nothing dramatic happened. They just talk less, come home later, stop asking about your day. You lie awake wondering if they still love you.

This guide helps you read the signs carefully, and shows how to have the conversation you are afraid of.

What are the signs your partner doesn't love you anymore?

For months they stop sharing their day, your feelings no longer seem to matter, and they no longer try to repair things after a fight.

One quiet week means little. What matters is a pattern over months: they no longer share their day, make plans without you, avoid touch, and do not seem to notice when you are hurt.

The clearest sign is indifference. Anger still shows that someone cares; not caring at all, about fights or about making up, is more worrying.

Signs to take seriously

  • They stop sharing their thoughts and their day with you.
  • Your needs and feelings no longer seem to matter to them.
  • They no longer try to repair things after a fight.

Is it lost love or just a stressful phase?

In a stressful phase they are distant from everything. When love fades, they often have energy for others but not for you.

Work pressure, money trouble, illness, a new baby, caring for parents or low mood can make a loving person withdrawn and tired.

In a stressful phase, your partner is distant from everything, not only from you. When love has faded, they often have energy for friends, phone or work, but not for you.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Did the change start with a big stress in their life?
  • Are they distant with everyone, or only with you?
  • Do they still show care on small things, even if rarely?

How do I ask my partner if they still love me?

At a calm time, speak about yourself: "I feel far from you and I miss us. Is something going on?" Then listen.

Guessing makes the fear bigger. Choose a calm time and speak about yourself: "I feel far from you lately, and I miss us. Is something going on?"

Listen without arguing, even if the answer hurts. You may hear about stress you did not know about, or about hurts that built up over years.

How to raise it

  • A calm, private time, not in the middle of a fight.
  • "I feel..." rather than "You don't love me."
  • One question, then listen.

What can I do if my partner has fallen out of love?

Spend small daily time together, try counselling, alone if needed, and stay close to people who support you.

If they say they still care but feel lost, there is a lot to work with: time together, honest talks, and often counselling.

If they say love is gone, or will not talk at all, you can still look after yourself, get support, and take time before big decisions.

What can help next

  • Small daily time together without phones.
  • Counselling together, or alone if they will not come.
  • Friends and family around you, whatever happens.

Questions people ask first

Can love come back in a relationship?

Often, yes, when both people want it and change how they spend time and talk.

Why has my partner suddenly become distant?

Stress, low mood, hurt that was never spoken, or sometimes someone else. Asking calmly is the only way to know.

Should I check their phone?

It usually makes things worse. An honest conversation tells you more.

Can I come to counselling alone?

Yes. Many people start alone, online or in person.

Talk it through with someone

One private conversation can make the next week lighter. Sessions are online by video or voice call from anywhere in the world, or in person in Neyveli, in English or Tamil. Nobody else needs to know.
